The procedure for fixing a thick layer of an insulating material to a metal support, esp. of corrugated metal sheet with flat ribs (6) consists of fixing adhesive strips (15), pref. double-sided to the upper surfaces of the ribs so that they stick to both the ribs and the insulating layer (12). The adhesive strips can be made from a bitumen-based material with faces coated with an epoxy resin, and which cna have an inner reinforcement of natural or synthetic, woven or non-woven fibres. Prior to application, the adhesive surfaces can be covered with a peel-off plastic film laeyr (19, 20) and the strips can be applied, for instance, by a roller (21). ADVANTAGE - Simple and efficient in operation.
