The trays have central circular openings (16) in the bottom (15) and vertical upturned sides (17). The area surrounding the central opening is filled with earth and planted with grass seed. The tray (10) comprises a number of cells (14) hexagonal on plan which fit together to form a grid (10), and with a gap left between adjoining sides in which there is a recess to drain off surface water. There are T-shaped hooks (12), the same thickness as the cell tray projecting from one side of each cell, and these hooks fit into similarly shaped recesses in the opposite side of an adjoining cell. USE/ADVANTAGE - The hooks are dirt free elements and link the cells together to form a patterned grass surface.
