The ventilator has a membrane oscillating freely on a horizontal axis between openings in opposite housing walls under the effect of the air current. Dependent on the air flow direction it masks one of the openings to a varying degree. The flexible membrane (11) has a smooth surface, and is fixed inside the housing (12) between the opposite openings (18, 19) as to give a different resistance to bending dependent on the direction of the air current acting on it. It can be clamped at one horizontal edge between two stops (13, 15) of different lengths, to give a higher bending resistance in one direction. ADVANTAGE - Allows wide degree of adjustment.
