<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display device which can effectively prevent the short circuit of pixel electrodes with gate lines or signal lines at the time of forming the pixel electrodes and the process for production of this display device. CONSTITUTION:The active matrix type liquid crystal display device is provided with the many gate lines 10 in a vertical direction and the signal lines 12 in a horizontal direction on a glass substrate. The region enclosed by these lines correspond to one of the picture elements. TFTs 14 and the pixel electrodes 16 are provided in the respective picture element. A passivation film 34 is so formed on the gate lines, signal lines and TFTs so as to cover these lines after the gate lines, signal lines and TFTs are formed and before the pixel electrodes are formed. As a result, the short circuit of the pixel electrodes with the gate lines and signal lines is effectively prevented even if the pixel electrodes are formed after the above-mentioned formation.</p> |
