摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the rotational speed of an engine from abrupt increase due to a change in travelling resistance by increasing desired slip rotational speed according to a difference between actually detected throttle valve opening and valve opening by a reference throttle valve opening determining means for maintaining vehicle speed during travelling on a flat road surface. CONSTITUTION:When the travelling resistance of a vehicle travelling with constant speed is increased, a throttle valve opening is increased by an electronic controller 200 for cruise control to avoid the reduction of vehicle speed. At the same time, desired slip rotational speed is increased according to a opening difference thetai-thetaa between a reference throttle valve opening thetaa for maintaining the vehicle speed in travelling on a flat road surface and an actually increased throttle valve opening thetai. Thus, a slip amount of a lock-up clutch 32 is increased since the increasing operation of the throttle valve opening, so that the output torque is increased as the rotational speed of an engine is continuously increased to increase the vehicle speed. Thus, the rotational speed of the engine is prevented from abrupt increase.
