<p>The above-mentioned invention relates a control device mounted on a bicycle handle bar comprising: a fixing member (1) fixedly mounted on said handle bar; a brake lever assembly including: a first pivot axis (3) provided on said fixing member (1); a brake lever (2) having: a base portion (21) connected to a brake control cable and pivotably supported on said fixing member (1) through said first pivot axis (3); a control portion (22,23) extending from said base portion (21) and forming a control grip; a speed control lever assembly provided adjacent to said brake lever assembly including: a second pivot axis (28) extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to said first pivot axis; a speed control lever (91) pivotably supported on said second pivot axis; whereby it is characterized in that, said speed control lever (91) has a speed control portion extending behind and substantially along said control portion (22,23) of said brake lever and that said speed control portion is pivotable in the same direction as a pivoting direction of said brake lever (2) about said first pivot axis (3) and further that said speed control lever is pivotable about said second pivot axis, independetly from said brake lever (2), for a speed change operation.</p> |
