The spring ring (4) is made of a stainless steel strip. The sealing ring (1) has circumferentially spaced axially aligned projections (6) of elastomer projecting into the groove area. The projections are pref. conical. The dust protection ring is first placed in the groove and then the spring ring is fitted axially next to the protection ring which is axially deformed for pressure fit. The resulting radially outwardly acting compressive force prevents the two rings from rotating. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduced mfr. costs since the spring ring can be made by cutting off strips to any length.
