Intensity measurement appts. for shot blasting process - measures indentations in the surface of a test piece using a mechanical comparator

A hand-held enclosure (2) contains a mechanical comparator (3) recording the vertical displacement of a connecting rod (4) under the action of a spring. One end of the rod (4) protrudes through the base (7) of the enclosure. The base (7) is fitted with four protrusions (13) which press against the surface of a test piece (20) which has been subjected to the shot blasting process. Mechanical means are provided to disconnect the connecting rod - comparator mechanism while placing the sample in position, or while removing it. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple low cost measurement of shot blasting effect.
