A pharmaceutical composition comprising as an active ingredient a pharmaceutically effective amount of a 1-cyclo-propyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-7-piperazino-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid of formula I (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate thereof in which R denotes hydrogen or ethyl in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier.
