PURPOSE:To obtain stable image quality even when transfer efficiency is changed by correcting a reference value based on detected value by an optical detection means for detecting toner adhesive amount on a photosensitive body after transferring a reference toner image. CONSTITUTION:The toner adhesive amount on the photosensitive body 1 after transfer is detected by the optical detection means 9. Based on the detected value, the reference value is corrected by a reference value correcting means. When the brightness of the formed image transferred becomes low because the transfer efficiency is lowered by repeating image formation, the toner adhesive amount after transfer becomes large. In such a case, the reference value is corrected so that the toner amount of the reference toner image may be increased. On the contrary, when the toner adhesive amount after transfer is small, the reference value is corrected in a reverse manner. Since process control where image quality stabilizing accuracy is improved is executed based on the reference value corrected according to the toner adhesive amount on the photosensitive body after transfer, the image quality is appropriately corrected even when the transfer efficiency is changed. |
