The wall (1) incorporates a large number of artificial and esp. ceramic components (3). These are spaced apart for distances greater than their max. dia. The spacing can be irregular, or regular and in geometrical patterns, or can form pictures. The component surfaces can be flush with that of the wall, whether or not this is plastered, or alternatively sunk below or proud of it. The surface of each can be decorative and weatherproof on the outside. The components can be secured by keying, screwing or plugging into the wall surface.
