Appts. to cut two-dimensional patterns from a fabric, formed by stitching or embroidery or blanket stitches, has a cutting foot (15) and a cutting blade (25) moved radially at a gap (e) from the rotary axis (A) of the vertical support (29) member. The blade carrier (23) pref. swivels on a support (29) to pivot round a horizontal axis (c) with a section against a butt (33). The pivot point on the support (29) is directly below the bearing (31), to form an angle (alpha) with the vertical axis (A). The cutting foot (15) and cutting blade (25) can be on a radial or generally radial arm mounted to the vertical suppport (29). The vertical support (29) for the blade carrier (23) can be at the end of a pantograph arm, which pivots on the main pantograph arm round at least one horizontal axis while floating or almost floating. The pantograph arm is part of a parallelogram between the two arms, and is under spring tension, so that the cutting blade is displaced from the vertical axis.
