PURPOSE:To increase a lock up region, to reduce the number of idle revolutions, and to improve operability and fuel consumption by smoothening the fluctuation of torque transmitted to an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION:A torque fluctuation smoothening device employing a spring and a lock up device are operated in the region on the low speed side of a conventional lock up region (S10, 8).
