The handgrip for additional manual manoeuvring of the wheelchair is movable (26,28) and held by springs (60,62) in a middle position. It is connected with at least one control switch (24), the connection being such that a movement of the grip affects a like travel position in the control switch (24). It is also telescopically displaceable on the vehicle frame. The handgrip has two parts (26,28) connected to each other by a crossbar (46) which in its middle carries a steering lever (48) connected to the control switch (24).
