PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of the position and the decentering amount of an optical fiber in a ferrule as to an optical connector used for the connection of a sing;e mode fiber. CONSTITUTION:In the optical connector having structure that the end of the optical fiber 22 is fixed in an attaching hole 21 formed in the ferrule 20; the optical fiber 22 is constituted of a 1st optical fiber part 23 which has high dimensional accuracy and the small decentering of core, and a 2nd optical fiber part 24 which has lower dimensional accuracy and the larger decentering of core than the 1st optical fiber part 23. Then, the 1st optical fiber part 23 is disposed in the ferrule 20, and the 1st and the 2nd optical fiber parts 23 and 24 are welded to be optically coupled. |
