Double attachment reactive dyes have the formula <IMAGE> where U1 is C1-C4-alkyl, phenyl, C2-C10-alkenyl or the radical <IMAGE> where Q1 and Q2 are each independently of the other hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and Q3 is a group which is detachable under alkaline reaction conditions, Z is the radical <IMAGE> where each Q4 is independently of the other hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl which may be substituted by cyano, U2 is C1-C4-alkyl, phenyl, C2-C10-alkenyl or the radical <IMAGE> where Q5 and Q6 are each independently of the other hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and Q7 is a group which is detachable under alkaline reaction conditions, and w is 0, 1 or 2, t is 0, 1 or 2, v is 1 or 2 and X and L are each as defined in the description, with the proviso that at least one of the two radicals U1 and U2 is not C1-C4-alkyl or phenyl, and are prepared from benzyl compounds of the formula <IMAGE> where A is nitro or amino and U1, Z and t are each as defined above. The reactive dyes are useful for dyeing hydroxyl-containing fibers such as cotton and wool and provide high yields and high wet fastness.
