The invention relates to a detonator with percussion cap, having storage safety by interrupting the pyrotechnic chain. The detonator comprises a tubular body carrying, at a first end, a priming composition (22), a firing (striking) pin (24) mounted in the said body and urged by a percussion spring (26), a primer cap (primer) (48) and a delay module (50) which are mounted between the firing pin and the priming composition, a locking mechanism which, during storage, keeps the firing pin (24) away from the percussion cap (48), a pyrotechnic chain interruption means (52) which is mounted between the delay module (50) and the priming composition (22), and mechanical means (58, 60) capable of keeping, during storage, the pyrotechnic chain interruption means (52) in an interruption position and of transmitting the movement of the firing pin (24), at the instant when the latter is released, to the said pyrotechnic chain interruption means so as to bring it into a pyrotechnic chain continuity position. <IMAGE>
