The equipment comprises a conveyor and two or more stoppers for arresting the sections on the conveyor at certain points in the direction of travel. It also has a lifting table for transferring the stopped section and a turning mechanism for turning over the section and a bundling unit. The first stopper is positioned at distance J in the direction of travel from the rotation axis of the turning mechanism and the second stopper is at distance O in the opposite direction from the same axis. The two distances (J,O) are set, so that in turning over the section held firmly against the swing arm of the second stopper, the turned over section is nested in the open section lying at the first stopper with a small offset in either transport direction. USE/ADVANTAGE - For formed metal sections, esp. of channel form, in close packed layers by nesting pairs of sections in mirror image with an offset in either direction. Adjustment for varying section size is simple and the equipment operates reliably.
