The cable drum has two end discs with holders protruding towards each other and by which they secure the tubular core. The latter has a lengthwise seam with snap-joint. The core is in one piece with three sections hinging together on axes parallel to its own. The middle section can extend for a greatly reduced distance in the peripheral direction compared with the other two. It can have lugs at its opposite ends, engaging in mating recesses in the holders. The side sections opt. have bosses protruding inwards at the ends, also engaging in recesses in the holders. ADVANTAGE - Strength is improved, and will not come apart when empty and dropped. |
