PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion or fusion of a cartridge or a safety pipe by sodium polysulfide when the sodium polysulfide at a high temperature is generated by direct reaction of sodium with sulfer by breakage of a solid electrolyte pipe. CONSTITUTION:An anode chamber R1 and a cathode chamber R2 are formed on the inner side and the outer side of a solid electrolyte pipe 5 of a cylindrical form having a bottom. A cartridge 6 is disposed inside the anode chamber R1, the cartridge 6 is provided with a small hole 7 for sodium Na to get in and out at an interval part between the cartridge 6 and the solid electrolyte pipe 5, and sulfur S is contained in the cathode chamber R2. At the interval part between the cartridge 6 and the solid electrolyte pipe 5, a safety pipe 12 of a cylindrical form having a bottom comprising metal material and having a corrosion resistance is disposed. A protective pipe 13 comprising material having a heat resistance and a corrosion resistance is disposed between the safety pipe 12 and the solid electrolyte pipe 5. |
