PURPOSE:To develop a denitrification technique with high NOx decomposition rate which can be applied for a nitrogen oxide generating source such as diesel automobile or small-size cogeneration system by using a new catalyst system using hydrocarbon, etc., as a reducing agent. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to a method for denitrification of exhaust gas by adding a reducing agent consiting of a hydrocarbon or an alcohol and secondary air to combustion exhaust gas in the presence of magnetite to remove nitrogen oxide in the combustion exhaust gas. In the device 3 for denitrification of exhaust gas, the device is provided with a layer 4 filled with magnetite in the exhaust gas flow passage of a combustion device, and further, a secondary air inlet 5 and a hydrocarbon supply port 6 on the exhaust gas flow passage between the magnetite-filled layer and the combustion device exhausting part 2. |
