摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the resolution of a MUSE decoder by protecting a stationary body from being erroneously detected as a moving image. CONSTITUTION:Edge detecting circuit 5 detects the edge of the image signal of the current frame, edge detecting circuit 6 detects the edge of the image signal obtained at least one frame before, and further edge movement detecting circuit 7 detects the movement of an edge between the current frame and the frame at least one frame before the current frame. Movement detecting circuit 3a calculates in unit of sampling point the difference in amplitude between one frame and two frames to detect the quantity of movement, and when the image is discriminated to be a stationary image, the adding ratio of adding circuit 8 is determined so as to add only the output signal from stationary image processing circuit 2. On the other hand, if the image is discriminated as moving image, when the edge of image is moving, the adding ratio of the adding circuit 8 is controlled in accordance with the movement of the edge of the image, and when the edge of the image is stationary, the adding ratio of adding circuit 8 is determined so that the adding quantity of the image signal treated for stationary image can increase.
