The device connects cable conductors to contact elements (2) which have contact slits (1). The device includes a housing (3) with a number of press stages (4) resiliently mounted on it, and a cutter for the cores. The press stages (4) are disposed in the housing (3) spaced apart from each other. A pressing device (5) acts on each of the press stages (4) successively. The cutter (6) is formed by a knife member (20) fixed to the housing (3) and a counter-knife (22) movable with the pressing device (5). USE - Esp. for telecommunication and data technology.
