The unit has a multi-part linkage system (1, 2) subjected to a bias force generated by a coil spring (3). An element of the mechanism is held by the spring against a stop (6) on the housing. The linkage release is dependent upon movement of an input lever (7) which can be displaced in an anticlockwise direction. When moved to the centre position the lever sets the linkage to a latched position with an angled surface (11) against a stop. When an overload occurs, the actuator of a release unit moves to displace the linkage and allows the contact element to (9) to move to an open position. ADVANTAGE - Reduced number of parts. Reliable operation without adjustment.
