Water trough used as anti explosion device in mine - has tapering sides with projecting rib around inside top edge over which flexible flange of cover fits

The trough (a) has a tapering cross section and a rim around the horizontal flange to secure a tight fit for the cover (b). The cover (b) has a beaded rim (c) and a flexible flange which fits over a rib running round the inside top edge of the trough. There are catch stops integrated into the bead rim of the trough. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cover is securely fitted to resist deformation and disturbance from shock waves caused by explosions.
