PURPOSE:To prevent the base line length of a range finding light from being affected by eye width adjustment, and to improve the accuracy in range finding by constituting the binoculars so that a distance between objective lenses is not varied, althrough a distance between a pair of eyepieces is varied at the time of adjusting the eye width. CONSTITUTION:When eye width is adjusted by using a lens driving amount calculating means and a lens driving means, a distance between a pair of eyepieces is varied, but a distance between objective lenses 2, 3 is not varied. In this case, the position of light receiving windows 8, 9 for range finding provided on the outside of the objective lenses 2, 3 is not varied, as well. Accordingly, since the base line length of a range finding light is not affected by eye width adjustment, the accuracy of the range finding is improved. Also, as for the objective lenses 2, 3, they become compact since its interval can be narrowed to the eye width or below, and even if the light receiving windows 8, 9 for the range finding are provided on the outside of its objective lenses 2, 3, the dimension in the transverse direction in the front part of the binoculars can be reduce and its compact property is hardly spoiled. |
