The present invention relates to a memorial monument consisting of a base (1), two lateral edges (2 and 3), a stele (4) resting on a rear crosspiece and on the rear end of each of the edges (2 or 3), a median crosspiece (6) mounted transversely between the edges (2 and 3), and, at the rear of the monument, a tombstone (5) resting longitudinally on the edges (2 and 3) and the median crosspiece (6), characterised in that, in the front part of the monument, each edge (2 and 3) is provided with, on the one hand, a vertical groove (7) near its front end, and, on the other hand, a vertical groove (8) near the median crosspiece (6), the front and rear grooves (7, 8) of each edge (2 or 3) forming, respectively, pairs of grooves (7-7, 8-8), the grooves (7 or 8) of one pair being able to receive, transversely and vertically, the small sides (9a, 9b) of a crosspiece (9), respectively. <IMAGE>
