Metal, ceramic, oxide- or non-oxide material hollow channel body having a glaze on the inner surface is claimed. The channel body is pref. conically formed on at least one side. The channel body is formed by extrusion or isostatic extrusion, applying inner glaze, pref. after closing one side of the green body and burning. An engobe, frit or polymer film is applied for material e.g. gas and/or liq. sepn. USE - The bodies are used as membranes, membrane carriers, catalysts, diffusion burners, absorbers and whetstones
