PURPOSE:To print regardless of the ruggedness, thickness, moisture content and the like of recording paper by a method wherein a recording electrode for imparting an electric charge to ink is placed closely to the recording surface of a recording medium, in the recorder wherein ink droplets are attached to the recording paper by an air flow. CONSTITUTION:The recording paper 5 is traveled while being applied with tension by a brake 15 and rolls 12, 12' and being closely contacted with a platen 11. An ink retaining electrode 2 for retaining the ink 1 by surface tension or a magnetic force and the recording electrode 3 having a projected conductor part 4 are provided closely to a printing part of the platen 11. When a switch 17 is closed, a high voltage is generated between the electrodes 2, 3 so that the ink flies as droplets having positive electric charges. In the course of flying, each of the ink droplets is deflected in the direction of an arrow 19 by the air flow supplied from a nozzle 7 and then reaches the recording paper 5 to produce a printed dot. |
