PURPOSE:To enable the final print to be read and make it possible to resume printing without producing a blank in a printer using an in-line type thermal head by feeding a recording paper in blank according to the printing end signal and rewinding it according to the printing start signal. CONSTITUTION:A disc 12 provided with a large number of holes 11 at the ratio of one to one line of printing is mounted on a platen shaft 8a. A recording paper 9 interposed between a platen 8 and a thermal head 19 is printed, and when the printing is finished, by the inputted printing signal, a control unit 18 actuates a driving motor 10 for the platen 8 to rotate further in the forward direction and at the same time, the number of the holes 11 in the disc 12 detected by a detector 13 is counted by an up/down counter 17. When said number reaches a given value (n), the motor 10 is stopped (the recording paper 9 is fed in blank by n lines). On the other hand, when the printing is continued, by the printing start signal inputted to the control unit 18, the motor 10 is reversed, and the operations opposite to the above are performed. After the recording paper 9 has been rewinded by (n) lines, the printing is resumed. |
