PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. giving a coating film excellent in flatness, hardness, and bending properties by compounding a specific acrylic polymer and a specific cationic polymn. initiator. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic polymer having at least one alicyclic epoxy group in the molecule and a mol.wt. of 1000 or higher (e.g. 3, 4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl methacrylate-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-styrene-n-butyl acrylate copolymer) and a cationic polymn. initiator selected from the group consisting of a Broensted acid, a Lewis acid, and trifluoromethanesulfonate, hexafluoroantimonate, tetrafluoroborate, hexafluoroarsenate, and hexafluorophosphate of amines (e.g. dimethylaniline hexafluoroantimonate) are compounded.
