The subject of the invention is a device for automatically loading ammunition into a weapon (3) which can move in terms of elevation and which is carried by a turret (1) which can be orientated in terms of azimuth comprising a battery (barrel) (12) which rotates endlessly and is formed of several containers (18) each one containing a piece of ammunition. According to the invention, the device includes an articulated system (30), pivoting in the plane of orientation of the weapon (3) in terms of elevation, about a horizontal axis (32) for taking up and transferring containers (18) between the battery (12) and the weapon (3), and means for guiding and positioning the containers (18) in the axis of loading of the weapon (3).
