<p>An integrally molded table soccer playing figure (18) has an elongated body with a head (51) and foot portion (53) disposed at its opposite ends. A cylindrical passage (54) axially extends laterally through an upper portion of the body and is adapted to coaxially receive a longitudinal portion of an actuating rod (13) that is used to translate and rotate the playing figure. The body passage is diametrically sized to create a press-fit between the body portion and the rod portion therein, and the body is mechanically locked to the rod by a small roll pin (55). Washer portions (82, 84) are provided on opposite lateral sides of the body for shock absorption. A molding passage (80) in the foot portion and elongated recesses (90) in the opposite front and rear sides of the body serve to eliminate undesirable molding distortion. Contoured surfaces (63, 64) on the rear and front foot portions enhance the ball handling characteristics.</p> |
