<p>PURPOSE:To realize excellent exposure to both an object at a low brightness and an object at a high brightness in one pattern by setting a level of a storable charge in response to picture information. CONSTITUTION:A substrate bias level Vsub is controlled to select a state of either LEVEL 1 or LEVEL 2 in a prescribed timing in a pattern. A charge in excess of a saturation charge level (1) in an initial time t1 in the one pattern overflows and clipping takes place at a high brightness part. Then the control is switched at a latter half in one pattern, the level Vsub is set to the LEVEL 2 and a saturation charge level is boosted up to a level (2) and a photo charge is stored consecutively only for a time t2 while storage margin is provided. The charge stored in the time t1 and the charge stored in the time t2 are added by a photo charge storage part of each picture element.</p> |
