摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous motion detection in which a still picture element is mistaken as a motion picture element and to improve picture quality by detecting a motion based on components in a low band of a horizontal, vertical space frequency of a one-frame difference signal of a NTSC signal and in a high band of a horizontal space frequency of two-frame difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal X in which one-frame difference signal 1FD of a NTSC system color television signal is band-limited to the low band of the horizontal, vertical space frequency and a signal Y in which two-frame difference signal 2FD is band- limited to the high band of the horizontal space frequency are inputted to absolute value devices 11, 12. There, an absolute value is required for a signal level and the output signal from the absolute value devices 11, 12 whose level value is greater is outputted from a max. value device 13. The output signal from the max. value device 13 is inputted to a movement decision ROM 14. In decision ROM 14, the data stored in advance in ROM 14 is refered to according to an edge signal from an edge detector 16 and a motion signal is outputted for every picture element according to the data. Thus, a motion is detected more correctly by restraining an erroneous detection as much as possible, which contributes to improving the picture quality of a motion adaptive type signal processing.</p>
