23525-48 This invention relates to the protection of the guide elements of first and second parts of a machine, these parts being movable relative to each other and connected to each other by means of such guide elements. In order to protect the guide element that is arranged on the first part of the machine against the build-up of dust, grease, oil, and the like, the guide element is arranged within a guide channel that is almost completely closed in. This guide channel is only accessible through a slot in its upper side, through which the guide elements of the second part of the machine pass. The slot is covered over by the housing of the second part of the machine and in the area that is beyond such housing by a belt. Thus the guide element in the channel is sealed off from the outside when the second part of the machine is in any position whatsoever. When a notched belt is used, this notched belt serves as a driving as well as a covering element. |
