PURPOSE:To obtain a printed image excellent in resolving power and drying properties by using a finely pulverized resin and/or rubber in the hot melt ink layer on a support. CONSTITUTION:The hot-melt ink layer provided on a support is based on a colorant, a lubricant and a finely pulverized resin and/or rubber. The resin or rubber minute particles are prepared by dissolving a resin or rubber in a good solvent and gradually drapping a poor solvent into the resulting solution to precipitate minute particles to prepare a dispersion. These minute particles are pref. spherical partials having a particle size of 0.1-5mum. The lubricant and the colorant are dispersed in a solvent. Both dispersions are mixed to prepare a coating solution which is, in turn, applied to a support having good heat resistance such as a plastic film, cellophane, parchment paper or condenser paper. By this method, a thermal transfer recording medium imparting an image having high resolving power and having a rapidly dried ink layer is obtained. |
