<p>PURPOSE:To positively hold passengers seated on the rear seats without narrowing a car-room space by forming room-pressure reducing hole parts to the partition wall in the neighborhood of the mounting part of an air bag device, and shielding the room-pressure reducing hole parts with a covering member. CONSTITUTION:Room-pressure reducing hole parts 4a, 7a are formed to the partition wall 4 and seat backs 7 formed between a car-room 2 and a trunk room 3, and the hole parts 4a to which an air bag device 11 is mounted, is usually shielded and sealed by the base plate 13 of the air bag device 11, a gas generator 15, and a covering member 21. When the gas generator 15 is operated, the covering member 21 is broken, and the air bag body 17 expands after the hole part 4a becomes open. At the time when the air bag body 17 expands, the room 2 and the trunk room 3 are communicated through the hole part 4a with each other to prevent the rise in atmospheric pressure in the room 2.</p> |
