A screwdriver has a shaft (1) attached to a screwdriver bit (2) which is enclosed in a sleeve (5) holding the head (4) of the screw (3). Inside the sleeve (5) is a captive coil spring (9) which allows the sleeve (5) a limited up and down movement on the shaft (1). The top coil (10) of the spring (9) grips in a groove (11) in the shaft (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Acts as a safeguard against injury to the user and damge to the screw head.
