PURPOSE:To greatly improve the service life of the nozzle for molten metals as compared with the nozzle made of CaO or MgO stabilized zirconia by using Y2O3 stabilized zirconia in the part of the specific grain size of the above- mentioned nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The Y2O3 stabilized zirconia is used in the matrix part of <=10mum average grain size of the partially stabilized zirconia having prescribed grain size constitution, by which the strength characteristics not much different from the strength characteristics of the costly nozzle for molten metals made of the Y2O3 stabilized zirconia over the entire part are obtd. with the least possible use of the Y2O3 stabilized zirconia for the nozzle. The durability is improved to >=2 times the durability of the conventional nozzle made of the CaO stabilized zirconia. |
