METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MICROCAPSULE AND RECORD SHEET USING MICROCAPSULE

PURPOSE: To prevent the penetration of water into an internal phase by the formation of interpenetrating polymer network microcapsule walls around the said internal phase by reacting a functional acrylic resin or a copolymer and a formaldehyde condensation prepolymer with condensation reaction. CONSTITUTION: A functional acrylic resin or a copolymer having hydroxy functional groups or amine functional groups is added into an aqueous emulsion in which an internal phase composition is dispersed. Formaldehyde condensation prepolymer is added in the said emulsion simultaneously with an addition of a functional acrylic resin or a copolymer, or after the said addition. And then, the said functional acrylic resin or copolymer and formaldehyde condensed prepolymer are allowed to go through a condensation reaction to form microcapsule walls with an interpenetrating polymer network(IPN) around the internal phase. The microcapsule is prepared by forming a first capsule wall which wraps the internal phase and then by over-coating the said first capsule wall with a second capsule wall comprising the IPN.
