This patent claims a gauge converter with conical bridge for railway vehicles with motor located longitudinally parallel to the train's axis. When a railway vehicle is driven by a motor whose axis is longitudinal with respect to the vehicle, variation in the gauge of the driving wheels requires a special apparatus which permits the 90 degree transmission of the movement of the motor to the axle of the wheels and, simultaneously, the lateral movement of one of them, such that the shaft installed may adopt the corresponding gauge. One such apparatus is that which is protected in this patent, in which the railway axle is driven by a pair of conical gears and, at one of the ends of the former, appropriately grooved, the corresponding wheel is mounted on a moveable fitting, in order to absorb the differences in gauge between different railway networks. <IMAGE>
