<p>PURPOSE:To provide possibility of performing charging while electrolyte is prevented from stratifying by making AC current flow to the electrolyte in the inner lower part of a battery jar, allowing the electrolyte to generate heat directly, and meantime performing charging. CONSTITUTION:A bunch of electrode plates 4 comprising pos. electrode plates 1, neg. electrode plates 2, and separators 3 interposed between them is put in a battery jar 5 together with electrolyte, and a sealed lead-acid battery is formed. At the time of charging, AC current is flowed to the electrolyte situated in the inner lower part of the battery jar 5 to allow the electrolyte to generate heat directly. Thereby the specific gravity of the electrolyte in this part becomes low to cause its upward motion, which generates convection of the electrolyte, and charging can be performed while the electrolyte is prevented from stratifying.</p> |
