<p>The invention relates to an arrangement in a foot rest (7), especially a foot rest associated with a passenger chair (1A), said foot rest (7) comprising in relation to the chair seat (4) an innersupporting member (8) serving to support the rear side of the legs (11) of a user (10), as well as an outer supporting member (9) for placing the feet thereon, said supporting members (8, 9) being linked together for thereby taking a folded position when not in use and an unfolded position when in use. For the purpose of devising a foot rest which is especially applicable in connection with reclinable aircraft seats which are used for long distance journeys bringing about a need for varying sitting positions and full length lying positions, there is according to the present invention suggested a foot rest (7) in which at least one of the supporting members (8, 9) is provided with a foldable flap (8A, 9A) which constitutes a portion of the respective supporting member. Due to the various positions taken by these foldable flaps (8A, 9A) and due to the adaption of said two supporting members (8, 9) to take various angular positions in relation to each other in their folded out user position, there is achieved a plurality of sitting/lying positions rendering alternating support of the legs (11) or a finished support of the feet (12).</p> |
