<p>PURPOSE:To keep away the centroidal position of the head from the face surface and to enlarge the sweet area by constituting the part in which a preform of a reinforced fiber or a whisker is placed, and other part, of a fiber reinforced metal and a metallic stock, respectively, embedding a mass body in the vicinity of a toe part or a heel part of a sole part, and also, forming the whole golf club head by a hollow integral structure. CONSTITUTION:In a golf club head 1 made of a fiber reinforced metal, a reinforced fiber 9a or a whisker 9b is placed in a face surface 2, a face surface peripheral edge part 3 and a part of a sole part 4, the whole surface 5 of a crown part, a part of a toe part 6, a part of a heel part 7, and a neck part 8, of the head concerned 1, and also, integral molding is executed simultaneously by a metallic stock 10 for constituting the head 1. In order to enlarge a sweet area so that a golfer can hit easily a ball, the volume of the head is set to about 230cm<3>-250cm<3>. As for the fiber content of the fiber reinforced metal in which the reinforced fiber or the whisker is placed, it is desirable that it is within a range of about 10%-30%.</p> |
