<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the disturbance in tape traveling by the abrupt turning of a tension post by gently changing the output of a position sensor provided on the tension post for the time longer than the constant at the time of the restoration of a spring supporting the tension post until this output attains the optimum value at the time of a forward direction. CONSTITUTION:The torque of a motor which drives a reel turntable on a supply side is gently changed from the value at the time of traveling to the backward direction of the magnetic tape up to the value at the time of traveling to the forward direction of the magnetic tape covering the time longer than the restoration time of the spring 31 supporting the tension post 32 when the traveling direction of the magnetic tape changes from the backward direction to the forward direction. The abrupt turning of the tension post 32 from the position in the backward direction to the normal position in the direction where the spring 31 in the turning direction recovers is prevented. The oscillation arising when the tension post 32 collides against a stopper and the floating of the magnetic tape are eliminated in this way.</p> |
