The invention relates to a joining of two end sections of a conveyor belt or drive belt consisting of elastomeric material and having a tension bearer, consisting of textile or metal material, embedded between outer layers. In the join, the free ends of the tension bearers are laid together. The joining point of the tension bearers is covered by a reinforcing insert which is embedded in elastomeric material and comprises a covering fabric or filaments or wires aligned transversely with respect to the tension bearers. In order to increase the dynamic strength of the joining of conveyor belts or drive belts, the reinforcing insert (21, 22) is in each case interrupted in the region (17, 18, 19) of the free ends (15, 16) of the tension bearers (11, 12). |
