REgulating purity of gypsum recovered from off-gas of power station - by purifying recovered from the hydrocyclone plant prior to recycling to absorption circuit

Method of controlling the purity of gypsum recovered from the off-gas desulphurising plant of a power station, esp. a coal power station, consists of partially cleaning the liq. current which is low in solids and which is recovered from the hydrocyclone plant before recycling it to the absorption circuit washing tower. This liq. is used to compensate for the loss in water during the absorption stage. ADVANTAGE - By cleaning the recyclable liq. components which would harm the filterability and/or crystallisation of the gypsum are removed. The gypsum has a high degree of purity without harmful colouration or an adjustable content of additive which is required for a specific use.
