High frequency inductive type plasma burner for the treatment of liquid or solid gaseous wastes, characterized in that a high frequency field (2) directs the plasma (3) onto the product to be treated, said plasma being confined by a suitably shaped core (4). The use of said high frequency field means that higher temperatures are obtained than those achieved using other processes, thereby destroying the treated products far more thoroughly. The burner can be operated under pressure by adjusting the output (7) or in a partial vacuum. An exchanger (8) collects the surplus calories.
