The invention discloses a process for operating a gasification plant. The gasification of all kinds of wood, plants included, waste, refuse, paper, plastics, sewage sludges, solvents, oils, coal takes place under vacuum, in particular in the absence of atmospheric nitrogen, nitrogen being a known extinguishing agent. A very high quality gas, almost a rich gas, is obtained. The enormous advantage of this type of gasification over combustion is that the materials, including toxic materials, crack completely as a result of the high temperature of up to 1600 degrees Celsius, and the long, toxic linerar molecule chains are split so low and so short that they consist of only one, two or three of the smallest carbon atoms in the gas. The entire gasification is a completely new type of technique which is carried out on an agitated roasting grid at temperatures up to 1600 degrees Celsius. This roasting grid is also the reactor. The material to be gasified must pass through the roasting grid reactor, or is removed in a precisely controlled manner by grinding, planing or grating and completely gasified. The roasting grid is operated or heated externally by electricity or gas, and heated to the roasting range of 1600 degrees Celsius. The roasting grid movements can be operated by means of a lifting or rotary system. |
